Stability:
Stability in Brave New World is not only part of the World State's motto but also central goal of the society itself.
As every country today, they want to be stable. Wars and class-struggles are not even kept in memories; it is not needed anymore, the society is perfectly stable and endangered by nothing!
But at which cost?
To answer this question it is - as always - necessary to first understand what the source of instability is.
Instability of a country arises when there are too many differences between the social groups in a country, or when there are single persons who feel treated unfair and thus fight the party they blame for this state of discontentment. If this feeling is also growing in the majority of the citizens and no change in sight, then the stability of the country is at risk. The masses revolt. Or even worse, if they feel antipathy against a whole group of people even whole states, then the plague of war comes over the lands.
Disease, war, genocid, hell on earth. All comes and goes with a people's temper and their will to dominate.
In Brave New World the big nine-years-war prepared the way of success of the World State: They abolished all of this. Again the question: At which cost?
